Cannon Rocks
Geography and History
Cannon Rocks is situated about 130 km North of Port Elizabeth on the Eastern Cape Coast of South Africa. Cannon Rocks gets its name from two Cannons and an Anchor retrieved from Portuguese wrecks off the coast. The Beaches (north of the famed woody cape) have been riddled with wrecks over the centuries. The woody cape area now falls under the Addo National Park and has one of the largest shifting sea sand dune fields in the world.
Activities
Cannon Rocks is a renowned Kite boarding and fishing destination. It also offers a nature trail, a camping resort, a beach swimming area and some friendly locals.
Vast beaches and a quiet village make this a great destination for people wanting to get away from it all.
