Beauty and tranquillity meet at Van Stadens nature conservancy...  We offer self-catering accommodation, 90 campsites and day-visitor picnic spots. 

Van Stadens Resort is located halfway between Port Elizabeth and Jeffreys Bay, only 45 minutes from Port Elizabeth International Airport. 

Escape from the city but have the convenience of Bay West Mall and a selection of shops and restaurants in a scenic 20-minute radius. 

Most of the resort fronts on the tranquil Van Stadens River estuary. Swings for the little ones. There are sand-boards, peddle-boats, paddle skis and canoes for hire. Come fishing (beach and estuarine), birding or swim in the lagoon or stroll along the rolling dunes or the seaside.

NO PETS allowed. (Sorry not even cute small ones!)

Bring your gazebo, pack a picnic, or your braai-grid, and visit us for the day!  A kiosk is open over weekends and at peak times - hours are limited in the low season.

Van Stadens Resort Accommodation

• Beach Units furnish seclusion, a touch of luxury & the ocean on the doorstep for the discerning guest.

• The 2-bedroomed thatched rondavels represent the "Van Stadens" that everyone remembers. Furnishings are simple, but functional. Units are neat.

• The cosy 1-bedroom face brick chalets have sea-views from the braai and patio areas. Furnishings are simple and practical. 

• Van Stadens has 90 lawn sites suitable for tents or caravans. Some have shade from the sheltering milkwood trees, others have panoramic views. All have braai areas, access to electricity and water. You will need to bring a long extension and a blue caravan plug (Fredlin-caravan-adaptor).

Activities at Van Stadens Resort

This is an ideal spot for a picnic or braai. There are 30 Picnic Spots to be booked. All situated in front of the lagoon. Each has a built-in braai and a wooden picnic table. Bring your own Braai-grid, gazebo or umbrella!

There is a children's play area, and they are welcome to bring their bicycles. Bring your fishing-rod, camera and binoculars!

Pedal-boats, sand-boards & canoes can be hired. 

Take a long walk and enjoy our bird life, or the tranquil solitude of our lovely beach. Come fishing. You could even fly a kite!
